I looked and what I found has set me into a fucking fury.
The comments alone are proof that feminism and organizations like this are SO important. People think we’re, and I quote, ‘making victims out of victims just to get their man hate out there’.
Patriarchy is so engrained into the minds and makeup of our society that things like this are being passed off as petty, made up, or simply ‘the inability to take a compliment’
Really, now?
I’ve never really asked anything of my followers before, but honestly this has shaken me to my core. After reading such an amazing article thinking how progressive it is then having my stomach drop to the floor after reading the horrible comments has frustrated me to no end.
I just want it to be out there and known that these mindsets are overwhelmingly prevalent in society today. We need to acknowledge this and band together to dismantle this patriarchal bullshit that is being spewed onto the most empowering of articles.
